ADAS 101

ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) can be found in modern vehicles, typically as part of their standard or optional safety and convenience features. These systems use a combination of sensors, cameras, radars, and software to enhance driving safety and assist the driver with tasks like lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and parking assistance. ADAS is commonly found in newer cars, especially mid-to-high-end models, and is gradually being included in more affordable vehicles as the technology becomes widespread. It aims to reduce accidents and improve overall driving comfort.

ADAS calibrations are REQUIRED if any component of the system is disrupted in any way, including the following:

  • Any Collision Repair

  • Sensor/Mounting Bracket Replacement

  • Minor Collisions

  • Windshields or Side Mirror Replacement

  • Wheel Alignments

  • Suspension Repairs

  • SRS/Airbag Deployments

  • Altered Ride Height or Tire sizes

  • When any DTCs related to systems are present
